oppad huis toe } on my way home

every year i promised myself that i would photograph these lilies ~ almost missed them. 

this little patch of march lilies only blooms, what feels like for a second, every year by the side of the road. 

i live about 70km from cape town in a little town called wellington. i drive to the city every day. they always make me smile, because they push through the earth in-between dry grass and sticks, to wow us with their pretty little pink faces without skipping a year.

net vir 'n oomblikkie bloei hierdie klompie maart-lelies elke jaar. so belowe ek myself al vir jare dat ek fotos van hulle sal neem. dit was amper of ek het hulle weer gemis. 

ek ry elke dag werk toe uit die platteland tot in die stad. hulle groei langs die pad oppad na durbanville vanaf wellington. wat my altyd laat glimlag is dat hulle sommer so tussen die droë grasse en takke hulle mooi gesiggies net vir 'n ou kort rukkie kom wys. hulle is goed vir my hart.
