om 'n mamma-designer te wees

this mommy-designer found some fabulous ideas on pinterest for a monster-kiddy-party and decided to make a little monster invite. the invite is 10cm x 7cm in size. i must say i dread the day that i can't choose the themes any more for my kids. making this card was great fun.

hierdie mamma-designer het op pinterest die oulikste idees vir 'n monster-kinderpatydjie gesien, en natuurlik op die laaste minnuut besluit om dit vir haar 4jarige te doen. {voor sy te groot is, en self besluit wat haar temas gaan wees} m.a.w. ek is 'n totale 'control freak' en dread die dag wat ek nie meer my kinders se temas kan kies nie. ek het dit vreeslik geniet om hierdie kaartjie te maak. dis 10cm x 7cm groot.

the shoestring collective pop-up shop

a few weeks back i was invited by my friend leila, to sell my mugs and plates in her and her partner's pop-up shop in garden centre {cape town}, called the shoestring collective pop-up shop. they displayed my products beautifully. you will find loads of stunning designs, jewellery, products, plants... the list goes on and on and on.

this is such a lovely way to start the new year.... thanks to a good friend, i found my red kiddy mugs in the ideas magazine, january 2012.  they are part of the styling in the photograph for an article on adding 'graphic detail' on some home ware. whooohoooo!

dit is heerlik om die nuwe jaar af te skop met my 'bekertjies virrie woelwaters' in 'n liefling tydskrif {idees, januarie 2012}. te danke aan 'n goeie vriendin het ek op hierdie foto afgekom waar twee van my rooi bekertjies deel van die 'dekor' uitmaak vir 'n artikel oor hoe om 'grafiese detail' op jou eie huisware te sit. jippeee!

a new coffee shop opened on wale street in cape town, called the bean there coffee roastery.

i even got some lovely free coffee when i visited the shop.

isabeau het verlede week vir my laat weet dat my koppies in 'n nuwe koffiewinkel is. natuurlik was ek vrek nuuskierig. die koffiewinkel se naam is, the bean there coffee roastery.
hulle het aan die begin van verlede week oopgemaak en het tot gratis koffie uitgedeel, heerlik.

i'm running around like a headless chicken. tjou-tjou's goodies will also be at zunette's {zunette mulder jewellery} market, that she organises from her lovely home in oranjezicht.

sjoe, ek hardloop lekker rond soos 'n afkophoendertjie. tjou-tjou se goedjies gaan ook hier beskikbaar wees, hierdie vrydag en saterdag,  te danke aan zunette van 'zunette mulder jewellery'. 
zunette organiseer hierde pragtige mark in haar huis in oranjezicht.

bright and breezy this morning, i looked at the coolest blue kombie that retha, owner of 'the farmer's daughter', organised as a stall at 'kamers vol geskenke'. i took these photos of tjou-tjou's goodies that she is selling with her label called 'die spens'.

ek het vanoggend gou deurgery om vinnig 'the farmer's daughter' se stalletjie by 
'kamers vol geskenke' af te neem. 'the farmer's daughter' is 'n pragtige leefstylwinkel in die hartjie 
van stellenbosch. te danke aan retha, die eienaar, is 'tjou-tjou' nou in haar winkel en by 'kamers vol geskenke' beskikbaar.
kyk uit vir 'n baie oulike blou kombie met die titlel, 'die spens', aan die voorkant van die stalletje. 'die spens' is 'n handelsmerk van 'the farmer's daughter'.

you can do so much with them. what about a pot for a potplant or maybe use one as a vase.

'tjou-tjou' het nou ook grooooot blikbekers, net betyds vir 'kamers vol geskenke'. jy kan so baie met hulle doen, wat van potplanthouers, of dalk 'n blompot.

took these pics on the weekend at 'the haas collective'. my kiddy mugs look beautiful.

het hierdie naweek 'n draai gemaak by 'haas'. ag, lyk die woelwaters nie te pragtig nie.

exploring new transfers for a conventional oven

{eco-friendly and heavy metal free}

lauren from j.t. macmaster & son gave me some new transfers to try out. usually these have to be fired in a kiln. that meant that enamel ware would melt, so was impossible to do.

these new transfers can be fixed in my oven at home and, if fired correctly, should be dishwasher safe. i'm so excited. to experiment, i have cut the designs up to make my own. look at the process. quick and easy. i still have to fire them and pop them in my dishwasher. will let you know how that goes on twitter.

ek spring uit my vel. ek het uiteindelik 'n prosess gevind om my ontwerpe op my blikborde en bekertjies te kry. gewoonlik moet transfers in 'n steenoond gebak word. dié ou prosess is te warm vir emalje. soos julle kan sien is dit heel eenvoudig om die ontwerp op die borde en bekers te kry. sodra ek hulle gebak en deur die skottelgoedwasser gesit het, sal ek laat weet hoe dit gegaan het. hou twitter dop.
