a few weeks back i was invited by my friend leila, to sell my mugs and plates in her and her partner's pop-up shop in garden centre {cape town}, called the shoestring collective pop-up shop. they displayed my products beautifully. you will find loads of stunning designs, jewellery, products, plants... the list goes on and on and on.
you are doing such a great job guys, thank you

een van my vriendinne, leila, van bow peep het my uitgenooi, om deel te neem aan hulle 'pop-up shop' in garden centre, met die naam the shoestring collective pop-up shop. die winkel lyk fantasties en al die producte en ontwerpe is pragtig.
i'm busy making more colour options for my jan pierewiet patterns. the idea behind these colour options are to stick as closely as possible to the traditional colours of enamel in south africa. if you like them and want to purchase wallpaper or material watch kristen's lovely shop, design kist. they are coming soon...

ek speel te lekker met kleur. my jan pierewiet patrone gaan nou ook beskikbaar wees in meer kleurkombinasies. die idee is om so na as moontlik die kleure te gebruik van tradisionele emalje in suid-afrika. hou kristen se winkel {design kist} dop as julle muurpapier of materiaal wil koop.
i'm running around like a headless chicken. tjou-tjou's goodies will also be at zunette's {zunette mulder jewellery} market, that she organises from her lovely home in oranjezicht.
sjoe, ek hardloop lekker rond soos 'n afkophoendertjie. tjou-tjou se goedjies gaan ook hier beskikbaar wees, hierdie vrydag en saterdag, te danke aan zunette van 'zunette mulder jewellery'. zunette organiseer hierde pragtige mark in haar huis in oranjezicht.

here's a look at a section of a design for my 'tin plate art' called 'jan pierewiet'. the design will probably be in black. maybe more colours ~ still deciding.
hierdie ontwerp is 'n gedeelte van my eerste idees vir my 'jan pierewiet-reeks'. die ontwerpe sal heel moontlik in swart gedruk word. miskien nog kleure.
i'm busy working on my new enamel range. i found this booklet of afrikaans folk music {thanks to a learner}. the booklet must have been printed in the fifties or sixties. i just had to smile. the cover is green and yellow with a silhouette of a springbok.
sjoe, the sport colours were everywhere in those days {obsessed}.
lauren from j.t. macmaster & son gave me some new transfers to try out. usually these have to be fired in a kiln. that meant that enamel ware would melt, so was impossible to do.
these new transfers can be fixed in my oven at home and, if fired correctly, should be dishwasher safe. i'm so excited. to experiment, i have cut the designs up to make my own. look at the process. quick and easy. i still have to fire them and pop them in my dishwasher. will let you know how that goes on twitter.
