what I love to do, re-booting

tjou-tjou was in a deep sleep for a year now. lot's of things kept me busy and ended up just being excuses to avoid what I love most: creating new products. in the last few weeks I realised that I'm in a battle with myself and I need to get over my blogging slump. talking about my creative process and struggles kept me inspired. so I hope with a lot of little steps I'll be getting back to the maker in me. at the moment I'm busy with a new idea for a product. yay!

liewe aarde, ek kan nie glo dat ek 'n jaar laas 'n blog geskryf het nie.🙈 so baie dinge het gebeur die afgelope ruk, waar begin ek? om een of ander rede het ek tot die besef gekom dat ek besig is om met myself te stoei en al die drama en hartseer om my as 'n verskoning te gebruik, om nie te doen wat ek so lief voor is nie. so, met klein stappies sal ek hopelik weer uit my blogging-dip kom. eerste stappie: 'n nuwe produk is in ontwikkeling. hoera!

hello at last

this year started out a bit crazy, but here we are at last. jenny and i made this shwe shwe dungaree for my youngest daughter and she loves it.

sjoe, die jaar het woes afgeskop, maar uiteindelik is ons weer op die lug. ek en jenny het hierdie shwe shwe kniebroekie vir my jongste gemaak. my dogterjie is mal daaroor.

i found this fabulous shwe-shwe fabric printed on both sides. on the one side polka dots and on the other side typical shwe-shwe patterns. jenny and i made these dresses for my girls and needless to say my girls think they are super cool.

ek vrek oor shwe-shwe materiaal. daar is nou shwe-shwe beskikbaar wat aan beide kante gedruk is, hoe cool is hiedie pienk en swart lap. aan die een kant is dit geprint met pienk en swart polke dots en aan die ander kant tipiese swhe-swhe patrone. ek en jenny het hierdie super cool rokkies 
gemaak van dit.

this year flew by again and i almost forgot to 'create' a memory for my memory-wall. i found some of my kids' old baby clothes and hope to capture a memory of them as babies with these embroidery hoops. will blog about the results soon.

a few months ago my daughter came up with a beanie design that i loved. look at the blog posts here and here. my learners and i brainstormed together to come up with a name for the beanie design. i just love the sound and mood of the name, peeka~pony. these pics are of my first prototype. they will be available in my online shops soon.
